Down Syndrome Ireland
We provide support and services to people with Down syndrome and their families though a national office and 25 branches nationwide. We provide an ‘all-through-life’ supports to people with Down syndrome and their families across Ireland with specialists in the areas of health, speech and language, early development, education and adult education and independence that enhance the lives of thousands of children and adults with Down syndrome across the country.
With 58 families registered from county Carlow, our branch works to improve the lives of and act as a support to families of those with Down syndrome. We are run on a voluntary basis by our members and offer a range of activities, outings, services and supports in Carlow. We are funded through donations and local fundraisers throughout the year. Our branch is a excellent source of local information, advice and support as well as sharing similar experiences with each other.
Additional services: SLT, parent and baby meet up group, courses and information talks for parents.
