Did you know, your local library provides a wide range of supports and services for parents and children? Libraries want to help you in developing your children’s literacy and numeracy skills and in fostering a love of reading and learning from an early age.
Our services include:
- Free membership for all ages – and no late fees.
- Advice and support on choosing books for different age groups and abilities.
- Spaces for stories, reading and sensory activities.
- A range of reading materials, including materials in Irish and other languages and a dedicated Parenting Collection.
- Library programmes and events throughout the year – advertised on our social media channels and in the local newspaper.
- Resources and supports to help you strengthen your children’s literacy and numeracy skills.
- A range of online services including:
- BorrowBox – eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, eNewspapers
- LOTE4Kids – storybooks in languages other than English
- Transparent Languages –teaches real conversations in over 110 languages
- Universal Class – Over 500 online e-learning courses to complete at your own pace
- World Book – A range of resources for all ages and abilities, ideal for school projects
- TTRS and Lexia – we have a limited number of licences for these literacy support programmes.
